Question 1

What is the average price of a used car in Kildare?

Accepted Answer

Prices in Kildare vary widely by make, model, age and condition, so we show a live median from current listings rather than a fixed figure — see the live median asking price on this page. Kildare is part of the Dublin commuter belt, so SUV and family-car demand is strong. Browse live Autoza listings to see current prices from verified Kildare dealers.

Question 2

How do I find verified dealers in Kildare?

Accepted Answer

On Autoza, all Kildare dealers are verified with a public Trust Score based on identity, listing quality, and customer feedback. Filter by location to see verified dealers in Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth, Celbridge and across the county.

Question 3

Are there used electric cars for sale in Kildare?

Accepted Answer

Yes — used electric vehicles are available in Kildare, including the Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Ioniq, and Kia e-Niro. Use the fuel type filter on Autoza to browse EVs available across the county.

Question 4

What should I check before buying a used car in Kildare?

Accepted Answer

Always verify the NCT status, run a vehicle history check on motorcheck.ie or cartell.ie, confirm VRT has been paid on any UK import, and check for outstanding finance. A pre-purchase inspection by an independent mechanic costs €30–€50.

Question 5

Are EV grants still available for Kildare buyers in 2026?

Accepted Answer

2026 is the final year of Ireland's EV support stack, but it applies to NEW battery-electric cars only: the €3,500 SEAI purchase grant does not apply to used EVs. New-BEV buyers also get VRT relief (a €5,000 ceiling on paper, but capped at the VRT actually due — 7% of the car's value — so about €2,800 at best, and nothing above €50,000 OMSP), expiring 31 December 2026. The €300 SEAI home charger grant is the one that DOES apply whether your EV is new or used.
