What is the total EV grant support available in Ireland in 2026?

The short answer

On a qualifying new battery-electric car you can combine the €3,500 SEAI grant, up to €5,000 VRT relief (ending 31 December 2026), and the up-to-€300 home charger grant. From 1 July 2026 the €5,000 ICE2EV scrappage top-up can push combined purchase support to €8,500. None apply to used or imported EVs.

Stacking Ireland's EV incentives, a buyer of a qualifying new BEV can claim the €3,500 SEAI purchase grant plus up to €5,000 VRT relief (both running to 31 December 2026), and up to €300 toward a home charger. From 1 July 2026 the ICE2EV scrappage scheme adds €5,000 when scrapping an old petrol or diesel, lifting combined purchase support to around €8,500. Each measure applies to new battery-electric cars only — not PHEVs, used or imported EVs.
